David Cataford, Career AdvisorMarketing yourself to employers and articulating your transferable skills can be challenging for students and graduates beginning to embark on their careers. David Cataford, the faculty's Career Advisor, specializes in providing career advice to students and graduates from Communication and Culture programs.
Students can book appointments with David, who will offer his expertise to critique your resume, help you develop your interview skills and job search skills including how to network, cold calling and other pro-active advice on how to land a job. This service is open to students looking for summer work or their first job after graduation and also to alumni who want to make a career move.
David is passionate about being a Career Advisor for the Faculty of Communication and Culture because he understands from personal experience how important career support is for all students. David holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Politics. He has worked in the Career Development field since October 2002 and is currently finishing his Career Development Certificate at the University of Calgary. Previous to this, David completed a Marketing/Management Certificate from Mount Royal College, worked in the retail industry and worked in sales jobs within the transportation industry.
