The Faculty of Communication and Culture's Head Start program offers you an opportunity to sample university learning early by taking one of our three most popular Communication and Culture courses in summer term (July 2 - August 14, 2008).
To accommodate your summer work schedule, choose one of the courses listed below, offered during the day, on the weekend, or in the evening.
Learn how people interact and build each others' realities, and how popular culture shapes who we are and how we see ourselves.
Mondays and Wednesdays 11:00 am - 1:45 pm
Instructor: Janis Goldie
Learn why films affect us the way they do, and how popular culture meets serious art. Study how films work-medium, story, photography, movement, editing, sound, and acting.
Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30 pm - 9:15 pm and Thursdays 6:30 pm - 8:20 pm
Instructor: Deidre Martin
Learn how law regulates society and shapes our lives. Study the basis of law in ethics, in social needs, and in relationships of power and co-operation.
Saturdays 10:00 am - 3:30 pm Note: Course has pre-session study
