Adding to a growing list of honors for Faculty and students, Communication and Culture Dean Kathleen Scherf received the 'Presidential Citation' award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to student life and campus on June 12.

Every year the President of the Students' Union, in consultation with the Students' Legislative Council and Students' Academic Assembly, selects a number of deserving individuals to receive the Citation. These awards are the highest honour that can be bestowed upon individuals who are not members of the Students' Union.

As Students' Union President, Bryan West, eloquently stated, "in my last two years as President of the Students' Union there has been, in my opinion, no Dean more present, more engaged, or more active in campus culture, life, and governance here at the University of Calgary. More than that, it is clear to me that you are an individual who truly cares about the student experience and seeks any and every opportunity available to educate yourself on how students are thinking on any number of issues."
