Communication and Culture Photo Contest

The Faculty of Communication and Culture Photo Contest is open to all students currently registered in the Faculty of Communication and Culture.  

Submission Guidelines

1) Take a picture, or submit a picture if you already have one that falls into the following categories: 

  •  Academic (photos from classes, co-op programs, community service learning, travel study programs)
     
  • Student Experience (hanging out in the C&C lounge, campus activities, special events)

 

2) Submit your photo as a lower resolution image (JPEG) and if your photo is selected we will contact you for a copy of a high-resolution JPEG (300 dip or more).

3) Fill out the entry form below with your contact information, title, explanation and format of image. Please use one form per entry to a maximum of three entries per student.

4) All entries, with a completed form for each photo, must  be submitted by November 17, 2008.

5) Photographs along with entry forms may be submitted in one of three ways:

  •  Submit the entry form and photo online.
  •  Drop off a disk at the Communication and Culture office, SS110, clearly marked C&C Student Photo Contest (include application form).
  • Mail a disk to:
    Attn: C&C Photo Contest, University of Calgary, Social Sciences 110, 2500 University Drive NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 1N4 (include application form).

 

Submission Format

  • Photographs must be submitted in digital format, at a resolution of 300 dpi or lower (to accommodate transmission through e-mail)
  • Each file should be in JPEG format
  • Each file should be no larger that three MB


Selection Criteria

  • Creative or narrative approach to the image
  • Strength in communicating an aspect of student life in the faculty of Communication and Culture
  • Composition
  • Originality

 

Prize

The winner of the contest will receive a gift bag full of U of C swag and a gift certificate to the Den!
